Viktoria Grigoreva

Viktoria Grigoreva studied at the Music Specialist School in Kharkiv, Ukraine and graduated from the Gnessin Music Academy in Moscow where she studied with Professor Semion Mikityansky, pupil of legendary Professor Stolyarsky and subsequently with Irina Grebneva in Ukraine. Viktoria became a soloist of the Kharkiv State Philharmonic and Professor of the Kharkiv State Conservatoire. She was broadcast on radio and television in Ukraine.

In 1996 Viktoria moved to London. Her career as an educator encompassed teaching and examining posts at Eton College, Rykkio School, Specialist Music School in Stockholm, London Music Masters and the London College of Music and Media.

Viktoria performed acclaimed solo and chamber music concerts at leading venues, including Wigmore Hall, where she gave the UK premiere of Valentine Silvestrov's Post Scriptum Sonata. She performed in France, Sweden, Austria, USA and India.

Since 2001 Viktoria has been teaching at the Royal College of Music. Many of her students have won prizes at prestigious National and International Competitions such as the Martin Musical Scholarship Philharmonia Orchestra, Thirteen International Competition Young Virtuosos in Sofia Bulgaria, Golden Strings International Competition in Carnegie Hall, New York. Each year Viktoria’s students win major music scholarships to leading public schools such as Eton College, St Paul's Girls and Boys Schools, Westminster, Wycombe Abbey, Menuhin School, and Purcell School. Many of her mentored students have progressed to universities such as Harvard, Yale, Stanford, Princeton, Oxford and Cambridge.

Viktoria has given Masterclasses at the Euro Arts Festival in Vienna, Young Virtuosi and Musical Summers in Moulin D'ande in France, Middlebury College in Vermont, New Virtuosi in London, Deli and Jaipur in India. She also was on international Jury panels for string competitions in Madeira and Finland.

Viktoria is a director of the Tsukanov Family Foundation. She is also the founding director of the Jersey International Music Masterclasses which provides performance experience for students at many concert venues in Jersey combined with soloist and chamber music tuition from distinguished professors.
